6 habits you should develop for your success |
I have found 6 habits that will be beneficial for your future. If you can follow these
tips, you will be able to take control of your life and achieve your goals.
1) Be around
with positive people
People have a huge impact on your life. “You
are the average of the five people you spend the most time with,” says American entrepreneur and motivational
speaker Jim Rohn. With this in mind, you should think about the people
you’re spending time with the same way you think about what you eat and how
you’re exercising.
They are people that will
inspire you to be a better person, provide you with motivation to achieve your
goals, empower you to make the changes you need to succeed and cheer on your
success.
Some people can be
parasites. They suck out your happiness, energy and maybe some of your tangible
resources as well.
When you’re surrounded by
good people, you’re surrounded by life. You’ll be less stressed and find more
joy in daily things. Today, make a commitment to start spending more time with
the good people in your life.
2) Do not
consider failure to be the end of the world
So if you are feeling exhausted and disheartened
at the end of a tiring term, give yourself the opportunity to make peace with
the fact that you cannot change your shortcomings. Thereafter start deciding
how you would like to redeem yourself. Don’t get trapped feeling sorry yourself
but instead set yourself greater challenges. The only thing worse than failing,
is not learning from it. Try to establish what your strengths are and improve
and cultivate those strengths instead of focusing on your weaknesses.
Always remember these 3
things in mind:-
1. Failure doesn’t mean that
everything is over; it means that you have a chance to try something new.
2. Failure doesn’t mean you
are a loser, it just means you haven’t quite succeeded yet.
3. Failure doesn’t mean you
will never succeed; it just means you will need more time.
3) Manage your
time
We think that we never
have enough time because we’re so busy responding to life’s curveballs, if you
will. And, when we seem to free up just a little bit of time for
ourselves, we get hit from left-field with something that we simply have to
respond to. Furthermore, it seems like even when we’re not getting
hit with problems, we can’t seem to find the time to manage our daily tasks to
begin with.
When you get organized with your time, you
not only increase your ability to manage your daily tasks effectively, but you
also increase the likelihood of putting time where it really counts: towards
those long-term goals that you harbor deep down inside. If you’ve never done
any goal setting in the past, now is the time to get started
because it’s an absolute must-have prerequisite to effective time
management.
4) Do not take
the easy way out
Imagine for a moment you are confronted with
a situation. You can either take one of two choices, the easy way or the
hard way out. Whenever possible do not pick the easy way out. Before you choose, stop for a moment and realize there are actually three
choices; the easy way, the hard way and the smart way. See who ever is
giving you the choice is saving the best option for them self. Don’t be
fooled. Look at all the facts and ask a few more questions. The
best way is not always the most apparent choice.
The easy way out is a trap. You can’t
learn and grow by doing things the easy way. You have to learn what the
value of a hard days work is…you also have to learn how to work smart.
5) Ignore the opinion of others
Try asking yourself: what is the worst that can happen? Suppose that “they” do accuse you of being crazy – so what? This says more about them than it does about you. Maybe they are envious of your courage and boldness. Maybe they wish they had the guts to follow their dream. Maybe you’ve made them uncomfortable, because you’ve challenged their preconceptions about what is possible, and destroyed their excuses for living a life of mediocrity.
Think of somebody who has criticized you in
the past. Do they seem like a positive and happy person? If not, why does their
opinion matter so much to you?
Your path is unique and different and
special. Just like you. So checking in with your intuitive knowledge about who
you are and what you really desire is essential to let go of others opinions.
Because then you'll always have a connection with your truth.
6) Do not fear
change
Coping with change isn't that hard. You can't change how your brain works, but you can use its quirks to your advantage. Basically, your brain likes information it knows and understands and doesn't like what it doesn't know. If your brain experiences enough change in a variety of ways, it'll allow you to operate with the understanding that change is something you can survive and even benefit from.
You won't fear it so much because the information stored in your head provides evidence that fear is unnecessary. Of course, getting to this point is easier said than done.
With practice you'll get better
and it won't feel like you're hit with a stress bomb every time your life takes
a different turn. The only way the fear and stress will disappear is if you calm
down.
